Jodhpur: The second Bishnoi Engineers Seminar was organized with the aim of bringing engineers from the Bishnoi community onto a common platform and providing guidance to youth in the field of technology. A large number of engineers from different parts of the country participated in the event.
During the program, the organizers said that this initiative began in 2023 through discussions among a few Bishnoi engineers. At that time, a WhatsApp group was created to connect engineering graduates from the community, through which more and more engineers gradually joined the network.
First All India Meet Held in 2024
According to the organizers, the first All India Bishnoi Engineers Meet was organized in Jodhpur in 2024. At that time, nearly 600 Bishnoi engineers were connected through the WhatsApp group. Around 250 participants registered for the meet, while 225 engineers attended the event.
Engineers working in different states of India as well as those working abroad also participated in the meet.
Who Can Join This Platform
The group mainly includes B.Tech engineers, though those who completed engineering after a diploma and MCA professionals working in the IT sector have also been included. According to the organizers, around 95% of the members are B.Tech graduates.
More Than 850 Engineers Connected So Far
Organizers said the network grew rapidly by connecting juniors and acquaintances from different colleges. At present, around 850 Bishnoi engineers are part of this group.
Based on available data, it is estimated that around 5,000 engineering graduates from the Bishnoi community are working in various multinational companies and government services across India and abroad. Efforts are being made to bring all of them onto one platform in the future.
Website Launched for Registration
After the first meet, a dedicated website was also launched to organize the initiative more effectively. Through this website, engineers can register and become part of the network.
The portal currently includes seven key modules, such as:
Internship Portal
Mentorship Program
Career Counseling
Webinars
Startup Ideas
Job Opportunities
Environment-related Projects
Through this platform, a “give and take” model will be followed, where experienced engineers will share their knowledge and help guide younger members of the community.
Platform to Guide Youth and Society
The organizers stated that in the coming one to two years, the initiative aims to present new visionary ideas and technological initiatives for the community.
They expressed hope that in the future this platform will grow into a large national seminar, serving as a major guidance center for education, career, and technology for the youth of the Bishnoi community.
