India registered a historic victory by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs. After winning the toss, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner chose to bowl first. Taking full advantage of the decision, India put up a massive total of 255 runs in 20 overs. This score is considered the highest ever recorded in the history of a T20 World Cup final.

India’s innings began in an aggressive manner. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson gave the team a powerful start, adding 98 runs for the first wicket in just 7.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored a quick 52 runs off 21 balls, while Sanju Samson played an outstanding knock of 89 runs from 47 balls.
Strong Finish by Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube
In the middle and final overs, Ishan Kishan strengthened India’s total with a rapid 54 runs from 25 balls. Towards the end of the innings, Shivam Dube delivered a powerful finish, scoring 26 runs in just 8 balls and helping India reach the huge total of 255 runs.
New Zealand Falls Short of the Target
Chasing the massive target of 256 runs, New Zealand struggled against the disciplined Indian bowling attack. The Indian bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings and prevented New Zealand from getting close to the target. As a result, India secured a convincing 96-run victory and claimed the T20 World Cup title.
